A wedding Web site: Sally and Richard

We were approached by Sally and Richard to create a Web site that would organize information about their big day for their guests before the event, and provide a location to share photographs afterwards. The happy couple had a very distinct idea about the visual appearance of the site, which we were happy to incorporate and build on.

Richard is a fan of Doctor Who and he and Sally asked his graphic designer at Hat & Scarf to come up with a variation on their logo. The colours of the Doctor’s scarf (from the fourth Doctor’s era) formed the basis of the colour palette we selected for the Web site and are used in the navigation menu.

It was important that the site provided the guests with the obvious details of date, time and location but also allowed them to get directions, as well as find out about local accommodation (these details were removed after the event).

Sally and Richard wanted the Web site to be the main way that guests responded to invitations to the wedding, so we provided them with a simple form on the home page. Furthermore, they were keen for guests to make requests for the evening disco and get in touch with any other enquiries.

Finally, after the event, the site was to display not only the official wedding photographs, but also photos taken by the guests.
